Case Study: IRB Lleida
Rehabilitation of walking with Trackers and Virtual Reality at IRB Lleida: An innovative application for patients with Parkinson's disease
Client
IRB Lleida
Technology
Virtual Reality
Solution
Application to rehabilitate gait by using tracker technology to capture movement
The implemented solution
The Health Cures Research Group (GRECS) of the University of Lleida, in collaboration with the Biomedical Research Institute of Lleida (IRBLleida) and INVELON as developers of the solution, we have led an innovative project that integrates advanced technology and biomedical research to improve the treatment and quality of life of Parkinson's patients.
The solution implemented in this project is an application, developed by INVELON, which is used in conjunction with trackers, devices that accurately track patients' body movement, and a treadmill. Through an application developed by INVELON and with the use of trackers, devices that accurately track body movement, patients can work on improving their gait.
The information from the trackers is transmitted in real time to the application, allowing detailed control and immediate feedback by healthcare professionals, for subsequently monitoring and adapting exercises to improve the mobility and autonomy of patients affected by Parkinson's disease.
About IRB Lleida
The Institute for Research in Biomedicine of Lleida (IRB Lleida) is a leading institution in biomedical research and health promotion in Lleida and its surroundings. IRB Lleida's mission is to generate quality scientific knowledge, promote technology transfer and foster the training of professionals in the field of health.
Through its close collaboration with the University of Lleida and other prestigious entities, IRB Lleida develops advanced research and clinical studies that contribute to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, as well as to strengthen the health of the general population.
What does IRB Lleida need?
IRB Lleida is an organization that promotes biomedical research and investigation in the city of Lleida to improve the health and well-being of the population. To achieve this goal, collaboration with companies and organizations such as INVELON is essential, as it allows combining the expertise in medical research of GRECS and IRB Lleida with the Virtual Reality technologies provided by INVELON. This synergy allows the creation of innovative and effective solutions to improve the treatment and quality of life of Parkinson's patients.
Benefits
