About the project
Gijón Impulsa, an entity of the Gijón City Council dedicated to promoting economic development, innovation, and entrepreneurship, launched the Leorio Active Tourism Business Incubator (VETA). This facility is funded by the Institute for Just Transition (Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge) and the Government of the Principality of Asturias through Sekuens.
Located in a privileged and paradisiacal natural environment, the center was established to host and promote entrepreneurial initiatives and SMEs focused on the green economy, active tourism, nature, and sports. Within this innovative ecosystem, the creation of a Virtual Reality (VR) laboratory and multipurpose room was planned, designed to provide resident companies with cutting-edge technological tools. Furthermore, the project required space design, the creation and installation of vinyls and signage, as well as MDM management software for the virtual reality viewers and the installation of screens in the space.
The need: Virtual Reality provider for Gijón's business and entrepreneurial community, breaking down technology access barriers
Active tourism companies and emerging entrepreneurs often lack the capital or technical support to acquire, configure, and maintain advanced Virtual Reality infrastructure.
Therefore, the project required a physical and technological space that did not demand advanced technical knowledge from users to start up devices or load projects. An accessible and easy-to-manage infrastructure was necessary, along with a global, end-to-end technology partner who would also collaborate with the creative needs of the space, viewer management, and audiovisual screens.
Additionally, the room needed to serve as both a technical testing area (R&D) and a professional showroom for clients and investors. The objectives of the project were, therefore:
- Breaking down technological entry barriers: Facilitating access to immersive technology for incubator companies without economic barriers or complex learning curves.
- Boosting business development: Offering an environment to test applications, simulate active tourism routes or activities, and present immersive experiences to end clients.
- Operational optimization: Implementing a centralized management system that allows agile, clean, and intuitive control of VR devices.
Technology implemented and services. INVELON as an end-to-end partner
To transform the multipurpose room into a benchmark technology center, INVELON executed a comprehensive "turnkey" project encompassing consulting and design, hardware deployment, installation, technical support, and guidance:
- Virtual Reality space design: Planning and distribution of the immersive area to ensure maximum user safety and mobility during the use of virtual reality viewers.
- Signage and vinyl design and installation: Graphic adaptation of the room through personalized vinyl application, giving the space a modern, professional visual identity aligned with the image of Gijón Impulsa and the natural environment of Leorio.
- Installation of screens and audiovisual equipment: Assembly and integration of high-definition monitors and screens to project in real-time what the user experiences inside the VR glasses, allowing observers or tutors to follow the activity.
- Deployment, configuration, and development of the VR device management system: INVELON deployed and configured the immersive viewers and integrated personalized management software. The Pico Device Management system allows the center's administrators and entrepreneurs to control, launch, monitor, and update content on multiple viewers simultaneously and simply from a central interface.
At Gijón IMPULSA, we are satisfied with the work carried out by INVELON, their advice, and their professionalism.

The result: an active tourism business incubator much more open to immersive technologies and spatial intelligence
The greatest achievement of this project lies in the elimination of technological adoption barriers. Traditionally, Virtual Reality requires a high initial investment in licenses and equipment, combined with the technical complexity of its maintenance and management. Thanks to the solution implemented by INVELON:
- On-demand, friction-free access: Incubator companies have a complete technology laboratory ready to use, where they can test prototypes, commercialize their services, and conduct demonstrations without incurring infrastructure costs.
- Simplicity of use: The management system developed by INVELON eliminates the complexity of configuring VR glasses, allowing any entrepreneur, regardless of their technical profile, to interact with the technology smoothly.
- Competitive differentiation in the green and tourism sector: SMEs located in Leorio can digitize their active tourism experiences (virtual tours, sports simulations, or environmental awareness experiences), positioning themselves at the forefront of innovation.
The project was consolidated as a success by offering a perfect balance between functional space design, audiovisual power, and custom management software, turning the Leorio Incubator into a benchmark for technological innovation applied to the green economy and local entrepreneurship.
