Question: Hello Javier. First of all, congratulations on your participation in the European Commission's T4T Tourism expert group. What does it mean for INVELON to be one of the 29 companies that are part of this group?

Answer: It is an enormous source of pride and, at the same time, a significant responsibility. Being among those 29 companies across Europe confirms that the work we have been carrying out in emerging technologies in the tourism sector, such as augmented reality, virtual reality and applied digital transformation, has genuine strategic value.
At INVELON, we advocate for democratizing technology and bringing it wherever it can generate tangible impact, where it makes it possible to overcome barriers and give society access to truly immersive and transformative experiences. Spatial Intelligence technologies applied to tourism are a major catalyst for achieving this. And being part of this expert group demonstrates to us that the talent and innovation we develop at INVELON, from Europe, are on a par with the high standards of the European Union environment.

Q: For those who are not familiar with the initiative in depth, what exactly is the role of the European Commission through the T4T group?

A: The Together for EU Tourism (T4T) group was created to lead the green and digital transition strategy of the European tourism ecosystem, as established by the EU's Transition Pathway for Tourism.
Specifically, the Digital Transition subgroup acts as an advisory and driving body. Its main function is to advise the European Commission on decision-making, public policy design and the technological roadmap.
Among other things, we assess how artificial intelligence, data management, digital twins and immersive experiences can make European tourism more competitive, environmentally friendly and accessible in the face of global challenges.

Q: One of the major challenges facing tourism today is sustainability. How does technology help make tourism more digital and also greener?

A: Digitalization and sustainability go hand in hand. This is what we call the "Twin Transition" in Europe. Technology makes it possible, for example, to reduce the carbon footprint through digital guides and itineraries that eliminate physical materials, or to intelligently redirect the flow of tourists towards less crowded areas.
In addition, virtual reality makes it possible to create educational experiences about the conservation of protected natural areas without causing any physical impact on them.

Q: What specifically does INVELON bring to this EU working group?

A: We bring experience and knowledge, a technical and practical perspective, gained from the numerous projects developed over almost a decade in the tourism, heritage and culture sectors. In European public administration, broad visions for the future are often defined, and in order to develop them with guarantees, leading companies in the sector are needed to bring these ideas down to the ground.
This experience allows INVELON to bring to the Commission the know-how acquired over the years through the creation, development and implementation of training, maintenance, cultural outreach and interactive tourism experience projects.

We are also proud to bring a territorial perspective, the regional sensitivity of all the territories where we are present with our own teams, with offices, or where our clients are located and where we have developed projects.
The digitalization of tourism should not be concentrated solely in major capitals, but should extend to cultural, rural and sustainable destinations throughout the continent, an essential factor for the genuine democratization of technology.

Q: Looking at it from the opposite perspective, what does being part of this European Commission body mean for INVELON and its clients?

A: The benefits are direct on several levels. On the one hand, strategic foresight. We are in the place where European standards, regulations and future funding lines are discussed and drafted before they reach the market. This allows us to adapt our solutions months or even years in advance, and to give our clients early notice so they can prepare, plan and stay one step ahead.

Being at the table where advice is provided and close to where decisions are made also allows us to share space and engage in discussions with the main stakeholders, corporations, technology centers and public authorities in European tourism. This gives us the opportunity to transfer that global knowledge directly to our clients and we directly apply the best practices we absorb in Brussels to our projects.

Q: One final question. How would you define, in a single sentence, the main advantage and differentiating factor of INVELON's participation in the Commission?

A: Working with INVELON and placing your trust in us means being backed by the same standards defined by the European Commission. Excellence, commitment, innovation and responsibility towards society and the planet.
