Immerse yourself in history: Showroom VR at the Centre d'Interpretació de la Pedra Seca with Virtual Reality

The solution implemented: SHOWROOM VR
At Invelon we worked on an interactive and educational Virtual Reality solution in which visitors experience, in the first person and in an immersive way, the traditional dry-stone production process of two architectural elements: the Cabaña de Vuelta and the Aljibe (cistern).
In both cases, it is a fully interactive navigation that lets you build the structure and also visit the Virtual Reality recreation of the interior of a real hut; this extends the museum visit and creates an immersive and dynamic experience.
What does the Centre d'Interpretació de la Pedra Seca need?
In this case, the CIPS needed a Virtual Reality solution to promote and showcase the dry-stone construction technique, to the visitors and tourists who come to its permanent exhibition. Specifically, they wanted to explain how certain architectural elements such as Dry-Stone Huts and Cisterns were built, but in a much more dynamic way that would arouse great interest among the public.
Benefits
Virtual Reality is a key element in the promotion of cultural heritage; significantly improving the user experience and satisfaction, and facilitating the understanding of, and connection they feel with, the heritage they visit.
So much so that it can be said that both Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, applied to the heritage field, deliver better results when it comes to disseminating cultural content. In fact, the use of these technologies increases the intention to visit and the likelihood of repeat visits, two very important factors in this sector.
- Modernised information, which is far more relevant and complete.
- Greater dynamism. At long last, the classic exhibition formats made up of nothing but text and a single fragment of material are a thing of the past. Now, different approaches can be explored to present a much richer and more interesting exhibition using all kinds of media and formats.
- Greater public interest, since including this type of solution or resource will make visitors far more interested. It is a tool that impresses easily and connects with all audiences, presenting information more quickly and sparking great interest among the public.
