Ideal Barcelona
We take the Tutankhamun exhibition to the next level by integrating Virtual Reality to immerse the public in ancient Egypt.
About Ideal Barcelona
Ideal Barcelona, a Digital Arts Centre in Barcelona, partnered with Layers of Reality and MAD (Madrid Artes Digitales) to offer its visitors an unrivalled immersive experience. The experience, titled “Immersive Experience” and dedicated to Tutankhamun and ancient Egypt, aimed to immerse the public in a unique journey through ancient Egypt using Virtual Reality, among other immersive technologies.
What does Ideal Barcelona need?
Ideal Barcelona approached INVELON in search of the right Virtual Reality technology for its "The Immersive Experience" project. After close advice and thanks to our ongoing collaboration on other Ideal Barcelona projects, Pico G3 devices were chosen to deliver this experience. These devices offer high-quality performance and an immersive experience, making them the ideal choice for transporting visitors to ancient Egypt in an authentic and enveloping way.
The solution implemented: Integration of PICO G3 Virtual Reality Glasses into the Tutankhamun Immersive Experience
The experience takes place in a space of more than 2,000 square metres, divided into several rooms, each designed to offer a unique and enveloping experience related to the history of Tutankhamun and ancient Egypt.
One of the most outstanding elements of this experience is the room that incorporates the Pico G3 Virtual Reality devices. In this room, attendees take a seat and are immersed in an 8-minute journey that recreates the life and times of Tutankhamun in ancient Egypt. To ensure that as many attendees as possible can enjoy the experience at the same time, Ideal Barcelona has a total of 36 headsets.
What is remarkable about this experience is that it is designed so that even children can enjoy it, as it does not require active interaction; instead, spectators can watch the content in a room specially prepared to immerse them in the story and the narrative presented.
