The Virtual Reality project created for Rotecna improves the efficiency of its design department

The projects we work on are what back up the case studies we achieve. We explain one of our Virtual Reality projects.

The Virtual Reality project created for Rotecna improves the efficiency of its design department

Our Virtual Reality projects improve companies' productivity through innovation, with solutions tailored to their needs. In this case, we are going to explain how the project we created for Rotecna allows its design department to find the ideal solutions to each challenge before creating prototypes.

Our client, Rotecna, is a company dedicated to the design, manufacture and sale of plastic industrial equipment for pig farms. At its headquarters in the province of Lleida, it carries out the ad hoc development of its own projects. This has made it a leader in the international market, with a presence in more than 85 countries and more than 50 patents.

Its commitment to constant innovation has led it to look for solutions to speed up the design department, especially when developing prototypes of its products. Until our tool was delivered, these prototypes were made using 3D printing, but they wanted another method that would allow them to review and validate their designs even before they were 3D printed, speeding up their way of working even further. For this reason, they got in touch with us, as they wanted to create a method for assessing and evaluating their projects through Virtual Reality.

The goal: to create a Virtual Reality model that allows them to analyse prototypes before they are manufactured

This Virtual Reality case study was born with the aim of speeding up the design process for the client's products. Rotecna needed to create a safe testing environment in which to test and inspect full-size models with a set of specific tools. On the other hand, it was also necessary to create an option that would allow the functionality of the product to be studied on the farms themselves, simulating the installation site.
To do this, we created, tailored to their needs, a Virtual Reality system to carry out these tasks with the aim of making it easier to take sound decisions. The virtual visualisation of the product integrated into a real space will make it possible to check the situation and, as a result, make the best decisions for the assembly and final manufacture of each product.

Invelon's solution: using Virtual Reality for design departments

Thanks to INVELON's solutions in the field of Virtual Reality for design departments, we created a product with which the client is able to render its models in three dimensions and integrate them into Virtual Reality scenarios. This allows Rotecna to have a realistic 360º perspective of what the final result of each part will be and of the possible uses and improvements that can be made to it.

AURORA VR is the name of this solution created by INVELON and applied to Rotecna's project: a complete software system that allows them to analyse and manipulate previously created 3D models. In this way, they can now interpret and verify the specific model more quickly, as well as detect possible design errors.

As a result, our system is helping them to reduce the costs of creating the product, as we have considerably reduced the need for prototypes. In this case, our technology also helps to minimise development time, as it makes it easier to carry out adaptations, modifications and improvements applied to the design of each part.

All these advantages also mean an improvement in the efficiency of service to the end customer, as they shorten timescales by avoiding the need to test products in situ.

And as a final advantage, we are also helping Rotecna to improve its customers' satisfaction with the final product through innovation and technology.

A VR system where Rotecna can test and validate its products before manufacturing them

We can assure you that the final result has been a success both for us and for Rotecna, as it allows them to view the product being developed from a very early stage of the process. Thanks to this, they can detect possible errors in advance and make adaptations and improvements as they go, without having to wait until the product is manufactured in order to test it.

This leads to a more agile development process with lower costs, since, in addition to design costs, other steps in the chain are optimised up to the point of manufacture.

Seeing the product within a real setting offers a realistic perspective in which the projection of ideas is minimised and abstraction is avoided. As a result, the decision-making processes related to it are simplified and the results improve considerably.

A commitment to innovation, a strategic advantage

In the words of our client, innovation is a distinguishing trait and a key competitive advantage that has helped them to become leaders in their sector. For this reason, they saw that investing in Virtual Reality is a path to growth, as it will allow them to go beyond innovation in the final product and incorporate it into their creation and development processes.

Committing to innovation in a comprehensive way has given them one more advantage, since, thanks to powerful, customised and practical tools like this one, new challenges and solutions to them can be discovered quickly and efficiently. Being able to see your process in a real setting from the outset helps to take all the variables into account.

As a result, Rotecna views its experience as very positive, as it has allowed them to optimise their resources, boost their competitiveness and, ultimately, improve their profitability.

The application of INVELON's VR technology

This positive experience is not exclusive to sectors such as industrial product development, but can be adapted to any sector. At INVELON we offer you tailor-made solutions, essential for creating products that add value to your business and, as a result, to your customers too.

The manufacture of any type of object, construction and interior design, among other sectors, can benefit from the creation of a virtual testing environment, where each situation is assessed safely, without risk and without cost.

As you can see, Virtual Reality is not a thing of the future, but of the present, and every day more companies and sectors are incorporating it into their routine. At INVELON we want to help companies face tomorrow by developing solutions tailored to your needs. With them we not only take part in making project development easier, but we also help you to sell them by creating an experience in the presentation of the product that improves confidence and, as a result, conversion.
