About VR Pharma

VR Pharma is a clinically proven Virtual Reality platform that transforms healthcare by enhancing the patient experience in a sustainable and scalable way.

Its immersive experience is designed to help patients overcome pain, anxiety, and fear during medical procedures, invasive treatments, or hospital stays.

The need to achieve medical procedures without traumatic experiences

Medical procedures, especially those involving invasive interventions, can become stressful experiences for patients. This is even more evident in children, who may develop a persistent fear of medical care if they associate procedures with painful or traumatic moments.

A clear example of this is vaccinations, which often generate fear and anxiety in children. Therefore, it is crucial to find solutions that help reduce this anxiety and improve patients' willingness to receive medical care in the future.

The use of technologies such as virtual reality can be key during these procedures, creating a positive and relaxed environment that allows children to distract themselves from the fear of the puncture. It also immerses them into virtual worlds that provide a sense of security and comfort.

Furthermore, this technology enhances the patient experience and makes it easier for healthcare professionals to perform procedures more efficiently, without the resistance or anxiety they frequently generate.

Our solution and technological contribution

To effectively implement this solution, VR Pharma has relied on INVELON to provide the necessary hardware for its processes. For this purpose, we have supplied the advanced Pico glasses, which allow this immersion.

In collaboration with several primary care centers (CAPs) in Catalonia, such as the CAP of SĂşria, a clinical study is being carried out using this technology with children aged 3 to 6. First results are very positive, showing a significant anxiety reduction and an improved children's willingness to undergo medical procedures.
