SUCCESS STORY: CENTRE D'INTERPRETACIÓ DE LA PEDRA SECA
CENTRE D'INTERPRETACIÓ DE LA PEDRA SECA
The implemented solution: SHOWROOM VR
Invelon worked on an interactive and didactic Virtual Reality solution in which the ancient dry stone production process of two architectural elements is experienced in first person and in an immersive way: the Cabaña de Vuelta and the Aljibe.
In both cases, it is a fully interactive navigation that allows you to build the building and also to visit the Virtual Reality recreation of the interior of a real hut, which extends the visit to the museum and creates an immersive and dynamic experience.
About the Centre d'Interpretació de la Pedra Seca
The Centre d'Interpretació de la Pedra Seca (CIPS) is a meeting point to discover the dry stone technique and enjoy the historical and ethnological heritage of the municipality of Torrebesses. The centre has a permanent exhibition on dry stone and also hosts temporary exhibitions.
It is also the starting point for guided tours to discover the dry stone constructions of the municipality (cisterns and huts) and the heritage of Torrebesses, which has a Romanesque church with a Gothic altarpiece in polychrome stone, an old oil mill and an ethnological collection, among others. There are also activities and workshops to discover dry stone, suitable for the whole family.
What does the Centre d'Interpretació de la Pedra Seca need?
In this case, the CIPS needed a Virtual Reality solution to promote and explain the dry stone construction technique to the visitors and tourists they receive in their permanent exhibition. Specifically, they wanted to explain how certain architectural elements such as the Dry Stone Huts and the Cisterns were built, but in a much more dynamic way that would arouse great interest in the public.
Virtual Reality is a key element for the promotion of cultural heritage; significantly improving user experience and satisfaction, and facilitating the understanding and connection they feel with the heritage they visit.
So much so, that it can be said that both Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, applied to the heritage field, allow better results to be obtained in terms of the dissemination of cultural content. In fact, the use of these technologies increases intentionality and repeat visits, two very important factors in this sector.
- Modernisation of information, which is much more relevant and complete.
- Greater dynamism. Finally, there is an end to the classic exhibition layouts consisting only of text and a fragment of material. Now it is possible to explore different ways of presenting a much richer and more interesting exhibition with all kinds of media and formats.
- Increased audience interest - including these kinds of solutions or resources will make them much more interested. It is a tool that impresses easily and connects with all audiences, presenting information more quickly, and arousing a great deal of interest among the public.
"Thanks to the Virtual Reality solution developed by Invelon, visitors can better understand and enjoy the tourist attractions. The activity attracts a lot of interest from tourists, who connect much more with the construction process of the pedra seca. The Showroom VR solution not only allows them to visualise the constructions, but also to interact with them, so they enjoy the experience much more around discovering the historical heritage".
